Skip Bayless changes stance on Brooklyn Nets as their winning streak continues: “I actually put one foot back on the Nets' bandwagon”

The Brooklyn Nets found themselves at 1-5 after their first six games, but fast forward to today, and Brooklyn has become one of the league's hottest teams.

That's just how quickly life can change around the NBA. After a loss on Dec. 4 to the Boston Celtics, the Nets found themselves at 13-12 for the season. Since that loss, Brooklyn (22-12) has gone on a nine-game winning streak. That includes three consecutive wins against the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Brooklyn is starting to look like the team many had hoped to see. They currently find themselves in third place in the Eastern Conference standings. It's been a remarkable turnaround. Appearing on "Undisputed," analyst Skip Bayless praised the Nets after Monday night's 125-117 road win over the Cleveland Cavaliers:

"Last night was the first night this year I actually put one foot back on the Nets' bandwagon."

The Brooklyn Nets have quickly become one of the hottest teams in the entire NBA. After Monday night's impressive road win against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn looks to be firing on all cylinders.

Brooklyn will get ready for their next game on Wednesday at the Atlanta Hawks (17-16). They will then face the Charlotte Hornets (9-25) on Saturday before returning home.

The Nets continue to get sensational play from superstar forward Kevin Durant on a consistent basis. In his last eight games, Durant is averaging 30.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game. He is shooting 59.3%, including 46.5% from 3-point range, over that stretch.

Durant hasn't been the only player who has impressed during Brooklyn's recent winning streak. Superstar point guard Kyrie Irving has also been outstanding. In his last seven games, Irving is averaging 30.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg and 5.1 apg. Irving is shooting 52.1%, including 42.9% from 3-point range, during that span.

Brooklyn has the roster to be one of the league's most dangerous teams. After all the offseason drama (with Durant's trade request and ultimatum) followed by the sluggish start, a change in coaching and Irving's eight-game suspension, it looks as if the pieces are finally starting to fall into place for the Nets. If they can keep this up, they will continue to rise up the standings in the Eastern Conference.

Brooklyn trails the Boston Celtics (24-10) by 1.5 games. Those teams will next play each other on Jan. 12 in Brooklyn.
