Chauncey Billups had a storied seventeen-year NBA career, most notably with the Detroit Pistons. He is now the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers. Off the court, the five-time All-Star is married to Piper Billups.
The couple reportedly met as teenagers at George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. They married in 2001 and have three daughters together. Billups' wife received her bachelor's degree in marketing from the Metropolitan State College of Denver.
Unlike most NBA wives, she has chosen to pursue a career of her own and has worked as a realtor since 2019. The couple opened a Salon Plaza in Southfield, Michigan, that same year. Per Realtor.com, Piper works at Keller Williams Realty Downtown in Denver.
The Billups' eldest daughter, Cydney (born in 1997), graduated from the University of Texas in 2020, where she played on the soccer team, while their middle daughter, Ciara, graduated from the University of Southern California in 2022. Their youngest daughter, Cenaiya, is still in high school.

Should Chauncey Billups be in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame?
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is generally regarded as having the lowest bar for induction among the three major sports. Chauncey Billups, however, has not been inducted despite being eligible for over half a decade.
The former Detroit Pistons point guard was named to five All-Star Teams, three All-NBA Teams, and two All-Defensive Teams. Additionally, he was named NBA Finals MVP as he led the Pistons to the 2003-2004 NBA championship. Billups was known as a clutch performer who elevated his game when it mattered most.
Billups' 120.8 win shares currently rank second-most of any player who has appeared on at least one Hall of Fame ballot, yet he hasn't been inducted. He trails only Shawn Marion. While his career averages of 15.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists aren't exactly elite, Billups had a major impact on both ends of the floor.
Billups may not get inducted this year, as the ballot will be crowded with first-time eligible players such as Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Dwyane Wade, and Tony Parker. All four will likely gain induction on their first ballot.
While Billups may have a hard time sneaking in this year, it should be noted that he finished his career with more win shares than both Wade and Parker. 2024 may finally be the year that Billups is inducted, with Vince Carter as the only incoming player that will be inducted in their first year of eligibility. Despite his long wait, Billups is certainly deserving of induction.
