#4 – South Africa – 323 points

Edging England by one point, South Africa take the fourth spot in the table. For every ICC tournament in the last few years, South Africa have been one of the main favourites. However, they have been given the tag of “chokers” following their reputation of losing out in the latter stages of a tournament after starting off well.

Before the tour to India in 2015, South Africa were the top-ranked Test side. But, following the mauling on Indian soil, the Proteas have lost their way in the longest format of the game dropping down to sixth in the table. They rank third and fourth in the ODI and T20I formats respectively.

With only the 1998 ICC Champions Trophy (then known as the ICC KnockOut Trophy) to their name, the Proteas will be desperate to win some silverware with players such as AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla, Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock in their ranks.
