Five IPL owners pick up ISL bid documents

As many five owners of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have picked up the bid documents for the much-awaited Indian Super League, as a per an Indian Express report.

The interested franchises are Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.

Some I-League clubs are also keen on bidding for ISL franchises while former India cricket captains Sourav Ganguly and Sunil Gavaskar and celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ronni Screwvala have also been linked with the event.

Already a dozen suitors have picked up the Invitation To Bid (ITB) documents and there could be a few more in the next two days.

“There are a few more parties who have expressed interest but not picked the ITB documents yet. We expect that to happen over the next couple days. The parties will have to submit the documents by March 25 and the winning bids will be announced in the first week of April,” source in the report was quoted saying.

IMG-Reliance’s ISL is scheduled to be held between September and November later this year and Star India have already been roped in as the broadcasters.
