With the auctions done and dusted, the IPL is once again ready to engulf the fans with its unique brand of entertainment. This highly-competitive tournament has been a launch-pad for various youngsters, with most of them making it into their national sides after a successful stint in the league.

Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yusuf Pathan and Rashid Khan are just a few of the many who have made a name for themselves with great performances in the IPL.

Here's a look at the youngsters to watch out for in this year's IPL.


#5 Sandeep Lamichhane (Nepal)

The seventeen year-old leg spinner is the first Nepalese cricketer to be drafted in the Indian Premier League. Having been dubbed as the next 'Shane Warne' by former Australian skipper Michael Clarke, Lamichhane should use every opportunity provided to impress the cricket pundits and fans worldwide.

The Feroz Shah Kotla will provide suitable conditions for the young leggie to spin a web around the opposition batsmen, which would allow him to lead Delhi Daredevils to their maiden title victory.

Rajasthan Royals has served as a factory for young and budding talent. Since 2008, the Royals have given us a number of players who have gone on to do wonders in the international arena. This year is no different.

The twenty-two year old all-rounder Jofra Archer will not only add variety to the Rajasthan pace attack, but will also serve as a huge asset in the batting department. On the back of a highly successful run in the Big Bash League, Archer would want to leave no stone unturned in making a similar impact in the subcontinent as well.

Speaking of Rajasthan Royals, here's another name that the fans and the opposing teams need to look out for in the upcoming tournament. The Australian all-rounder is all set to light the event on fire with his explosive batting and unorthodox spin bowling.

He was named the 'Player of the Tournament' in the recently concluded Big Bash League, scoring a total of 578 runs - the most by any player in the history of the competition - with five half-centuries and one century. He would hope that is surely be one of the finds of the IPL tournament.

Bought by Kings XI Punjab, the sixteen-year-old spinner becomes the third player from Afghanistan after Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan to play in the IPL. He would want to follow in the footsteps of his countrymen in carving out a niche for himself on the big stage.

Picking up 20 wickets in just five matches, Zadran guided his country to their maiden ACC Under-19 Cup title. He would love to continue bamboozling batsmen with his off-breaks in the IPL as well and help Punjab secure their first IPL triumph.

#1 Kamlesh Nagarkoti (India)

Clocking speeds in excess of 140 kmph, Kamlesh Nagarkoti has become a household name after his scintillating performance in the recently concluded U-19 World Cup. A fantastic fielder as well, Nagarkoti finished the tournament as the joint second highest wicket-taker.

Bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping Rs 3.2 crore, the right-arm pacer would definitely want to leave a mark in the tournament. Preparing under the tutelage of Glenn McGrath, Nagarkoti is definitely one of the players to watch out for in this season of the IPL.
