Mahela Jayawardene eclipsed the former Australian captain Steve Waugh in the list of all time top-scorers in Test matches. Jayawardene ended an 18-match drought to score his 31st Test century against Pakistan in the ongoing Test match at Dubai.

Jayawardene climbs up to 9th in the list of all time highest scorers in Test cricket, where in 12 people have more than 10,000 runs. The Sri Lankan is now only 234 runs behind another Australian great Allan Border, in the all-time list
