New Delhi - Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar has stated that more arrests are expected for spot-fixing in Indian Premier League (IPL) matches but no more players are involved.

“More arrests are expected but those will be of bookies and no other player will be arrested. Only these three players were involved and no batsman is involved,” he said at a packed press conference.

Delhi Police arrested IPL players S. Sreesanth and his Rajasthan Royals colleagues Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila for cheating and criminal conspiracy; along with 11 bookies.

Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that the three players will also be booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), which deals with combating organised crime and terrorism.

He also said that there was evidence that spot-fixing was happening in other teams as well and that no international players were involved.

Apart from Mumbai, raids were also carried out in Delhi and its suburb Gurgaon.

“Among the items seized during the search include 51 mobile phones, five laptops and one recording machine,” Neeraj Kumar added.
