The cricket team of Nepal will prepare for the World T20 qualifiers, which is to be held in the month of July this year, in Dharamsala which is owned by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association. It would be a 15 day camp for all the 22 probable players to prepare for the qualifiers that will take place in Ireland and Scotland between July 9 and 26.
The decision was taken after BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur had commited to offer any sort of assistance to neighbouring country, Nepal, which is still recovering from the tragic earthquake last month. According to some reports, Thakur and the commitee zeroed on Dharamsala not due to the fact that it is Thakur’s home turf, but because of the fact that the conditions were pretty much similar to Ireland and Scotland.
In case the Cricket Association of Nepal requests for a few certified coaches to help the Nepal cricketers, the BCCI would be ready to make the arrangements. Nepal made their mark in international cricket by qualifying for the World Twenty20 2014 held in Sri Lanka though they could not make it to the next round.
