New Zealand continued their excellent run in World Cup 2023 after beating Shakib Al Hasan’s Bangladesh by eight wickets on Friday, October 13 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The Kiwis chased down a target of 246 after Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell scored half-centuries. Earlier, Trent Boult became the third fastest to pick up 200 ODI wickets.

Devon Conway is the leading run-scorer in the World Cup 2023. The left-handed batter has notched up 229 runs from three matches at an average of 114.50 and a strike-rate of 104.09. Conway also holds the record of the highest score of 152 not out in run-chases in the history of the mega event.

South Africa’s Quinton de Kock is second in the list, having racked up 209 runs from two matches at an average of 104.50 and a strike-rate of 110. Mohammad Rizwan is third and must be high on confidence after his 131-run knock as Pakistan registered the highest successful run-chase in World Cup history.

Kusal Mendis has scored 198 runs from two matches at an average of 99. The likes of Rachin Ravindra, Aiden Markram, Joe Root, Dawid Malan and Rohit Sharma have also been impressive.

Mitchell Santner is the leading wicket-taker of World Cup 2023. The left-arm spinner has picked up eight wickets, including a five-wicket haul against the Netherlands. Matt Henry also has eight wickets to his name but has an inferior average of 18.25 compared to Santner’s 15.87.

Jasprit Bumrah has been impressive for India as he has picked up six wickets from two matches including a four-wicket haul to show for his efforts. Pakistan’s Hasan Ali has also six wickets in the tournament and will be expected to carry on.

Kagiso Rabada, Haris Rauf, Bas de Leede, Shakib Al Hasan, and Shoriful Islam have picked up five wickets apiece.
