Fans can expect an uninterrupted contest when the Mumbai Indians (MI) host the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday, May 9.

Both teams are coming into the contest on the back of defeats and have had a similar run this season. A win today would take either to the third spot in the IPL 2023 points table and boost their chances of a top-four finish.

RCB went down against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in their last game. Half-centuries from Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror propelled Bangalore to 181 but it wasn't enough in the end. DC's Phil Salt ran a riot with the bat, striking at 193.33, as Delhi chased down the target in just 16.4 overs.

The Royal Challengers will have to fine-tune their bowling as they look to return to winning ways to keep themselves in the race for the playoffs.

Mumbai, on the other hand, lost to arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their last outing. A batting failure saw them post 139 runs on the board, thanks to Nehal Wadhera's half-century. MS Dhoni and Co. then produced a combined effort with the bat to gun down the target with 14 balls to spare.

As they look to put their campaign back on track, the five-time IPL champions suffered a massive jolt, with Jofra Archer ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. They are likely to draft Archer's replacement Chris Jordan straight into the playing XI to add some balance to the side.
