IPL 2024 Points Table: Updated standings after MI vs LSG match

Mumbai Indians have ended 10th in the IPL 2024 points table after suffering their 10th defeat of the tournament. The Indians suffered an 18-run defeat at the hands of the Lucknow Super Giants in Mumbai on Friday, May 17.

Courtesy of this loss, MI have ended 10th for the second time in three years. They took the wooden spoon home in the 2022 season as well. This year, they won four out of the 14 matches, ending the tournament with eight points and a negative net run rate of -0.318.

On the other side, Lucknow Super Giants have climbed up from seventh to sixth position in the IPL 2024 points table. The Super Giants have failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their IPL history. They earned 14 points from 14 matches but their negative net run rate of -0.667 hurt them a lot.

The top four teams of the points table after the MI vs LSG match are Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru dropped down from sixth to seventh position in the IPL 2024 points table after Lucknow Super Giants' win against the Mumbai Indians. However, RCB can climb straight to number four tonight. This is if they beat the Chennai Super Kings by 18 runs or chase the target with more than two overs to spare.

On the other side, CSK just need to win by any margin or lose by less than the two aforementioned margins to ensure a Top 4 finish in the standings. It will be interesting to see if the Royal Challengers can complete a dream comeback in IPL 2024 tonight.
