All the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players, including Virat Kohli, took a lap of honor around the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday night to thank their fans for showering them with love throughout the season.

Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated RCB by six wickets last night to end their IPL 2023 campaign in the league stage. The home team batted first in the contest after losing the toss and managed to score 197/5, knowing they had to win the match to advance to playoffs.

Virat Kohli played the protagonist role in the crunch match with a scintillating century. GT's young sensation Shubman Gill returned the favor with an astonishing ton in the chase as he helped his side register a comfortable victory.

After the disheartening loss, Royal Challengers Bangalore players gathered together and expressed gratitude to their ardent fans, who supported them by coming out in large numbers. IPL's official Twitter handle shared a video of the same.

"This is Bangalore's age-old problem" - Aakash Chopra on RCB's overdependence on Virat Kohli in pressure games

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra opined that RCB's overdependency on Virat Kohli in crunch games has once again proved detrimental for them. While reviewing the game between GT and RCB in a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra said:

"Kohli was left alone. This is Bangalore's age-old problem that no one was there with him. They invest in two or three people. Two out of the three (Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell) need to fire and when that doesn't happen this time collapses suddenly and that's what we found."

He added:

"There is no other Indian player who has played 50 matches, that's surprising. One has scored 7,100 runs and there is no other player to score 1,000 runs. If you are not going to invest in your Indian talent, this team is not going to do well."
