Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was seen interacting with Gautam Gambhir after their 2023 World Cup fixture against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday.

Naveen played for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), while Gambhir was the team's mentor. The two shared a good bond, and the former India opener even backed the youngster following his on-field spat with Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj during the season.

On Thursday, the Afghan bowler took to his Instagram handle to share a picture alongside Gautam Gambhir. He captioned the post:

"Chats smiles and words of wisdom from the legend @gautamgambhir55 💬😊."

Naveen-ul-Haq failed to make a significant impact with the ball against India, finishing wicketless while conceding 31 runs in five overs. The 24-year-old, however, was involved in a wholesome moment as he and Virat Kohli buried the hatchet and hugged each other during the match.

"The fight has ended" - Gautam Gambhir reacts to Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq's handshake

Reacting to Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq sorting out their differences, Gautam Gambhir stated that the fight between players is often only limited to the field.

He emphasized that every cricketer is entitled to have a fighting attitude on the ground while focusing on winning matches for their team. Gambhir, who was on commentary when Kohli and Naveen seemingly moved on from their spat, remarked on Star Sports:

"You fight on the field, not off the field. Every player has the right to fight for his team, fight for respect, and fight to win. It doesn't matter which country you belong to or how good of a player you are. The good thing was when we saw Virat Kohli and Naveen Ul Haq in between the overs, we can see that the fight has ended."

It is worth mentioning that Kohli came to Naveen's rescue after the spectators in Delhi heckled the seamer with 'Kohli, Kohli' chants. The former India captain gestured to the crowd, asking them to stop mocking the player.
