Sachin Tendulkar – Enough is enough!

Today, in the final against Rajasthan Royals, Sachin Tendulkar has failed. He did not look comfortable on the crease today, and his dismissal was the same old story. He got an early life off the bowling of Watson, getting the benefit of the doubt. Soon enough, he was clean bowled for just 15 runs off 13 balls.

You may term it as destiny. Some others describe it as low self-esteem. But the hardcore truth remains the same. Sachin Tendulkar is well past his prime. Nobody dares to put a question mark on the remarkable capabilities of the master. Nor does anybody, in their wildest dreams, doubt his commitment and hard work towards the game. However, in every player’s life, there comes a time, when he needs to take off the gloves.

Throughout his cricketing career, Sachin has undergone many different situations. Most of the times, he has managed to come out fighting. But, the impact of age is clearly reflecting now. Even medical science says that one’s physique starts getting deteriorated after 40. Also, the higher the stature one achieves, the more do people expect. The desire to see him excel every time is natural. But, his game is no longer so natural!

His all-out efforts and strong will power are beyond doubt. But, merely the will to succeed does not take you anywhere, if your physique is not in ideal condition. In this case, it appears that the master and his ardent followers are quite simple day dreaming. One has to come out of the fantasy world one day.

He is so popular, so lovable and an idol for many – but, the pressure of millions definitely takes its toll. Sachin possesses every possible quality needed for a good human being. He is so contented, cool and he works hard. But, on a professional front, what really matters is the optimum utilization of your batting skills. And when one loses the focus, expecting miracles is a far off dream.

Sachin is worth worshipping for what he has done, but now the body language is really not good. The problem is not that there is a loss of patience rather it is the unwarranted hurry which is damaging his play. Once you lose your self-esteem and confidence, the hand eye co-ordination is lost. This is a major setback for any batsman.

It appears that the master blaster has completely lost his rhythm. Otherwise, he is a very disciplined and committed cricketer. He has a lot of experience, and he would know it very well that things are getting out of control. He just needs to realize that taking a respectable exit is vital. He has achieved practically everything in life.

I feel very sad to write this, but he is no longer moving the feet well, the head is not in a great position and the wrists are not moving so well. Most disturbing is the fact that his ability to judge the line and length of the ball has been badly damaged.

It was a real joy to watch his batting for so many years, but recently this has turned into sorrow. We all love him, but perhaps this is the agony we have to bear. It’s time to put emotions aside and pull the curtain on this glorious career.
