Botham will undertake a walk for charity in Sri Lanka in November

English cricket great Sir Ian Botham will undertake a walk for charity in Sri Lanka in November to raise funds for disadvantaged children.

NDTV Sports report that Botham will walk from Kilinochchi in the north of Sri Lanka to Hambantota in the south through local towns and villages from November 1st to November 8th. Botham is looking to raise funds for disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka so that they can have better access to sports facilities.

“I will be doing 20 miles a day in the heat and humidity of Sri Lanka”, Sir Ian Botham said.

‘Beefy’ will be joined by former India captains Kapil Dev and Saurav Ganguly, as well as Sri Lankan stars Kumar Sangakarra and Mahela Jayawardene.

Botham will visit various schools and sports projects during his 500 km walk as he seeks to support over 100 projects in 34 countries.
