World Twenty20 Qualifiers: Nepal beat Kenya to win its second match

Spirited Nepal defeated Kenya by six wickets to win its second match in a row in the ongoing ICC World T20 Qualifiers being held in Dubai, UAE. It was the second victory in a row for Nepal from as many matches played, and it’s Kenya´s second defeat.

Nepal won the toss and elected to field first and it seemed bad decision as the Kenyan posted 182 runs and gave Nepal the target of 183 run to win the match. It was the biggest target ever to chase for Nepal in the sorter version of cricket. Nepal required 17 runs for victory in the last over and Sharad Vesawkar scored 20 runs off four deliveries and pulled of the historic win for Nepal.

Nepal will take on Scotland next in the qualifiers.

  • Bermuda 144/8 vs Netherlands 145/2 (16/20 ov): Netherlands won by 8 wickets (with 24 balls remaining)
  • Namibia 163/4 v U.S.A. 128/8 (20/20 ov): Namibia won by 35 runs
  • Ireland 138/5 v U.A.E. 133 (19.5/20 ov): Ireland won by 5 runs
  • P.N.G. 167/6 v Afghanistan 72/4 (7 /7 ov): Afghanistan won, Match reduced to 7 ov due to rain, target for Afg was 69 in 7 ov
