GTA Vice City is considered one of the best games in the GTA franchise and so fans are excited to revisit Vice City in a new GTA game with better graphics, if GTA 6 gives them a chance. With GTA IV going back to Liberty City and with GTA 5 going back to Los Santos, it is quite possible to think that GTA 6 would be in Vice City. While such new information on GTA 6 is very tantalizing for GTA fans, these are still rumors and Rockstar hasn't confirmed any of it yet but with all the fans calling for it, GTA 6 going back to Vice City might be the best way to go.
The President of Rockstar Games North, Leslie Benzies clarified some of these speculations. He said, "We don't know which direction GTA 6 will take, but we've got some great plans moving forward. We've got about 45 years’ worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA 6 will be, but we've got some ideas.” When asked about the rumor that GTA 6 will be returning to Vice City, Benzies said that the decision of revisiting a place leans more on the era rather than the setting itself. "Miami in the 1980's is so iconic it would feel strange to revisit the city in a different time period." Benzies further explained. The studio, however, also admitted considering the idea of the next GTA game having all the previous cities of the previous GTA games. They would like to have one big world containing all the cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas. “In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting," Benzies added.
Well, Rockstar still seems quite busy with the release of the Next Gen versions of GTA 5 and on working with GTA 5 Online, so for now these are just speculations. We’re just going to have to wait it out and see what follows in the next GTA franchise.
