Many F1 fans recently reacted to Max Verstappen's claim of McLaren's driver lineup being the best in F1. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have been performing quite well in recent races, especially after their team brought a massive upgrade in the Austrian GP, after which they immediately became one of the top teams bagging podium finishes.

According to Formu1a.uno, Max Verstappen praised McLaren drivers and their consistency compared to drivers from other teams. He said:

“I do think that as a team, they are probably the most consistent – compared to the others behind us. And I do think they have the best driver line-up out of all of them. So yeah, they are operating really well. And, yeah, it’s going to be interesting to the end of the year, but also, I think, the start of next year to see where everyone is at.”

Soon after the statement from Max Verstappen was reported by many X accounts, many fans flocked to the posts and reacted to it. Some questioned Oscar Piastri and how the rookie still has a long way to go before getting this kind of praise, while others argued that Mercedes' driver lineup is better than McLaren's.

Here are some of the reactions:

"Oscar’s becoming so overrated. He outscores Lando for the first time and all of a sudden he’s the next Lewis Hamilton. He may be a rookie but he’s only 1 year younger than his teammate and is pretty much 100% matured."
"Mercedes is stronger in my opinion, they just don’t get on as well as the McLaren duo"

Max Verstappen is keen to stay at Red Bull for the rest of his career

After winning his third consecutive world championship after the Qatar GP sprint race, Max Verstappen was asked whether he would want to stay at Red Bull or look for a new challenge in other teams.

The Dutchman expressed how comfortable he is driving for the Austrian-British team. He feels at home and would love to stay on the team for as long as possible. Speaking to Sky Sports F1, he said:

"It would be a beautiful story if I could drive here forever, that's for sure, something that will be amazing. I'm really happy with where I am. I feel at home, I feel really happy with the people who are very close to me here in the team. For me, this is not something that I need to seek. I have a few more years left on my contract anyway, so I'm just enjoying the moment."

Max Verstappen has a long contract with Red Bull that will end in 2028. Since he has already spoken about retiring from F1 when he stops having fun, he will most likely remain with his current team. Then again, no one knows what the future holds.
