Sebastian Vettel Interview: "I'm living a dream"

Sebastian Vettel undoubtedly is the fastest racer on this planet as of now. The German started racing at a very young age of 3, and is already a double World Champion. We had a quick chat with the man, who is on his way to his third straight F1 title:

Fourth victory in a row.You must be on cloud nine..

It feels amazing, as I really wanted to win this race. I had a tough start today, but once I found my rhythm I stuck to it. I feel a little relaxed now.

The Red Bull team must be very happy today..

Oh, yes. Everyone works so hard, and I am glad we are able to do well. Mark too had a good race apart from the KERS problem which he had to face unfortunately. It was a great day overall. We always have a very positive atmosphere in the team.

Do you like the Indian circuit? This is your second victory here. What do you have to say about that?

Yeah, the circuit is fantastic, and the consecutive laps push you to give more than your hundred percent, which is great. I feel very proud to have my name etched in the history of this circuit.

How important was this race for you?

For me every race is important. I try to give my best in every race, as you see that it’s not just about me, but also the whole team which works very hard.

Alonso finished second today, and was close to you throughout the race. What do you have to say about it?

Well yeah, he has been pretty close all season. *laughs* But that’s not a problem. The competition is healthy, and it gives me motivation to finish the race ahead of everyone. I focus a lot on improving my pace as every race is a new race, and you have to concentrate on it fully if you want to win.

You’re surely the favourite now to win the Championship this year too, after your successes in 2010 and 2011. What do you think of your chances?

By experience, I know that in F1 nothing can be predicted. You never know what is going to happen at the weekend on the tracks. The focus is to keep working hard, which makes my lead all the more enjoyable. I will try my best to finish the season as a champion for the third time of course, but nothing is certain yet. Let’s see…

How do you prepare yourself before the races?

I do a little fitness and listen to some good music before going for a race.

Describe your life for me..

Well, it’s like living a dream. I started racing as a kid, and now I am getting paid for it. What can be better than this? I love racing, and I am very passionate about it. Racing gives me a lot of pleasure and peace. Of course, there are a few drawbacks of being famous, but I won’t complain, as that would be unfair. I get to travel and practically live my life out of a suitcase.
