31% Real Madrid fans want Gareth Bale dropped from starting line-up

Gareth Bale clearly doesn't seem to be a favourite among the Real Madrid fans

The results of a poll conducted by AS.com reveals that 31% of Real Madrid fans want forward Gareth Bale to be dropped from the starting line-up. The results also showed that almost one-third of the 12000 people who took part in the poll wanted either Isco or James Rodriguez to feature ahead of the 25-year-old Welshman.

15% of the fans felt that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo also shouldn't find a spot in the first team, which is almost half as less as the poll conducted last month, which revealed that more than 32% of the fans didn't want to see Ronaldo in the forward line-up.

The third member of the “BBC” trio, Frenchman Karim Benzema and German midfielder Toni Kross got 6.5% and 3.7% respectively.

Close to 50% fans want Bale to sit out

Another query asked in the poll, revolved around which striker, among Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo, should be benched in case manager Carlo Ancelotti opts for a 4-4-2 formation. More than 90% of the fans wanted the Italian to resort back to playing that particular formation and 46.1% of them wanted Bale to sit out while 32.2% wanted Ronaldo to warm the bench.

The trio of Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo have scored 86 goals so far this season across all competitions. They have also been responsible for 17 out of Madrid’s last 18 goals with the Portuguese leading with 10, Benzema following him with 7 and Bale with 3.
