Five most overrated stars in English football

After the most under rated, now its time for the over rated players in the premier league

1. ANDY CARROLL – Liverpool

He may be a good target man and an top scorer in the Championship, but Andy Carroll hasn’t done anything to explain the £35 million Liverpool spent on him. Just 6 goals from 42 games from this expensive substitute makes him arguably the most over-rated in the league.

2. JOLEON LESCOTT -Manchester City

Definitely not worth £24 million, City could have found a much younger and talented center-back for that money and with injuries taking away his pace, Lescott doesn’t represent his price tag. He is talented, but for a team like Manchester City who is now on the title scene, he is a waste of some good money.

3) ASHLEY YOUNG – Manchester United

He cost Manchester United £17 million while a certain Cristiano Ronaldo cost them less and the boy got some ball control, pace and crossing skill but what he earned in his first season was just a couple of penalties and that too by diving.

4. PETER CROUCH – Stoke City

He scores with his left, he scores with his right. He scores with his head and he dances like a robot. Yes, it is Peter Crouch, the lanky striker who never had the pace to burn, might have scored many times for England against “top class” opponents like Jamaica, T & T and Estonia but still, his highest tally in the Premiere League is a mere 12 goals, that too way back in 2004. Given the money Tottenham and Stoke spent on him, he should at least score a few more goals.

5. JORDAN HENDERSON – Liverpool

Another blunder from King Kenny. Henderson arrived at Liverpool for £20 million, he may go on to prove his worth after 5 years or so, but the money spent last season was just a gamble gone wrong. Henderson showed some spark but keeping in mind that Liverpool got a much better footballer like Charlie Adam, for a much lower price, the £20 million is a waste of investment.
