Aaron Ramsey looks to build on his blistering start to the season

Despite his impressive start to the season, Aaron Ramsey – the form player of the Premier League – insists that there is more to come from him.

He has produced a number of eye catching displays for Arsenal this season, contributing four league goals as the Gunners sit top of the Premier League, but he has told SkySports that he can further add to his all round play.

“I think there is more to come, I’m still only 22,” said the Welsh international. “I still need to do better and learn a few more things but the boss [Arsene Wenger] is telling me about that, things like positioning defensively.”

“When you haven’t got the ball, while we’re defending – sometimes I am not always where I need to be.

“I need to be playing well, be involved in the game and taking these games by the scruff of the neck and keep doing the things I’ve been doing”

After a turbulent international career so far, in which he has already been appointed as and removed as Welsh captain by the age of 22, the midfielder is also finding his feet at international level.

He scored a late equaliser in this week’s game with Belgium, leading his manager Chris Coleman to say that he could grace any international side in the world at the moment.

“It’s nice to be recognised with comments like that. But I try not to take too much interest and let it affect me. I just try to focus on my own game and what I need to do to improve. I just try to keep on enjoying my football.

“At the back end of last season I noticed a change in myself. I got my confidence back, started playing some good stuff again and that’s carried on this year.

Ramsey has credited part of his resurgence with that of the Arsenal side as a whole, saying;

“The confidence is flowing throughout the team at Arsenal at the moment. We are top of the league, playing some good stuff and I think all the players are feeling good at the moment.

“All of us just want to get out there and play as much football as we possibly can at the moment.”

In only seven games this season, Ramsey has had 7 shots on target. This means that he is already halfway to achieving the number of shots on target that he managed over the entirety of last season (14.)
