Chamakh wants out as Wenger refuses bid for Gourcuff

January is near. And the transfer rumors have started appearing from everywhere! Marouane Chamakh, the £0 signing from Bordeaux, has admitted that he wants out because he can’t remain a bit-part player at Arsenal forever. The Moroccan international, who has made just a handful of appearances this season (mostly as a substitute) told aFrench TV station that he would have an “important decision” to make in the summer and might consider relocating to France.

Speaking to TF1′s Telefoot, Chamakh said:

“I am 27. I need to play. I cannot stay like this forever. If I played more, of course I would have more confidence and score more goals.”

However, with Robin van Persie‘s prolific goal scoring record of late, chances have been slim for the Moroccan who will leave for the African Cup of Nations in January along with Gervinho. Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger has refused to make a move for French playmaker Yoann Gourcuff, despite being an ardent admirer of the 25 year old Lyon player. The manager would also give South Korea captain Park Ju-Young and Russian Andrey Arshavin the opportunity to impress when Gervinho and Chamakh leave. Wenger told Canal+:

“He is a player I like a lot and I believe people have been very critical towards him in France. However, we won’t be in the winter market for any midfield positions considering that our players are back from injuries.”
