In a shocking revelation, Brazil forward Neymar admitted to Marcelo that he couldn’t feel his legs after Colombia’s Juan Zuniga kneed him in the back. The foul fractured his vertebrae and the 22-year-old has been ruled out of the World Cup.

Selecao coach Luiz Felipe Scolari said, “He said ‘I can’t feel my legs’”

“Marcelo was scared and called the doctor on but the doctor couldn’t get on in the confusion.”

Neymar was eventually taken off on a stretcher and air lifted by helicopter to a hospital where Brazil’s worst fears were confirmed.

Team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar delivered the verdict on his injury and said that the Barcelona player would be out at least until the end of August.

Scolari summed up Brazil’s feelings the most, “It was a big shock, the image of Neymar being stretchered off to the helicopter, in difficulty, crying.”

“Neymar was our benchmark, one of our references because he is a player who makes a difference in any team. We’re in a situation where we’ve lost something we don’t want to miss, especially for the semi-final and final.”
