Fabregas: We want to improve on counter attack

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has confessed that his team is contemplating adopting a counter-attacking style of play, Football Espana reports.

The Camp Nou outfit thumped Ajax 4-0 yesterday but often lost possession to the Dutch champions.

“There are nuances that we have to improve,” Fabregas reflected afterwards. “We’re working well and the results are good. We all strive for excellence. I think it will come soon.”

“If we can counter-attack, it’s worth giving it a try. We’re training to improve a couple of things. We need to read the games the way the boss wants us to.”

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino played Fabregas in midfield in Wednesday’s game instead of Xavi Hernandez.

“I’ve played in a couple of positions and the truth is that I feel comfortable. I’m feeling good physically and that’s the most important thing.”

The Catlan club may shift to a counter-attacking style of play instead of the famous “tiki-taka” deployed at the club by former manager Pep Guardiola.
