Chelsea vs Manchester United: 2 players who will decide the outcome

It’s almost painful at times being a United fan this season, not only do we have to watch Manchester City produce the sort of football we were once famed for, Liverpool scoring goals with ease and teams taking points off us on a regular basis, we also have to see our former transfer targets dominating games.

Eden Hazard was once wanted by United, who even looked like favourites to sign the then Lille winger but as has been the case far too often in recent seasons, the Reds target decided to ply his trade elsewhere.

Hazard has been on fire this season for Jose Mourinho’s men and is more than justifying the reasons half of Europe were desperate to sign him from his former club.

Nine goals in the Premier League is a record anyone would be proud of- especially a player who isn’t even a striker and there’s little doubt David Moyes must be dreading facing the Belgian this weekend at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard isn’t just a goalscorer of course, he’s also a provider and has created enough chances for his team-mates to make you wonder just whether he could hold the key to not just Sunday’s game, but the title race in general.

All this sounds very pessimistic from a United perspective and while it would be foolish to claim this season has been one full of happiness and rainbows there has been one small glimmer of sunshine.

Adnan Januzaj has almost single-handedly given United fans something to cheer about and there’s little doubt the other tricky Belgian could have a big say in the champions chances of victory this weekend.

As one would expect from an 18-year-old during his debut season in the Premier League, Januzaj hasn’t been nearly as dominant as his countryman, but he has been effective, mainly in giving the United faithful someone to get behind and believe in during what’s been a difficult campaign.

Januzaj is willing to run at players and try to create, just as Hazard is and while the youngster finds goals harder to come by than Chelsea man, he still knows how to find the net, something Sunderland can testify to when he introduced himself to the world with a brace at the Stadium of Light.

The smart money will be on Chelsea and Hazard emerging successful this weekend but if Moyes puts his trust in Januzaj, then no matter who emerges victorious we could be in for an attacking treat. It’s Hazard who has the edge over the teenager, but United fans will be hoping the “boy who can do anything” can produce something special.

Whichever way you look at it, Chelsea and United have two exciting talents on their hands, the question is which one of them will be on the winning side?
