Chelsea wonderkid admits: My future is uncertain

Chelsea loanee Thibaut Courtois is to have talks with the club to sort out his future ahead of the World Cup next summer. The Belgian is into his third-year on loan at Atletico Madrid where he has emerged as one of the most talented goalkeepers in the world. Chelsea signed him from Genk in 2011

but immediately sent him on loan to Spain and despite not playing a game for the Blues, they’d like to extend his contract.

But with the likes of Barcelona, Atletico and their rivals, Real Madrid, apparently interested in signing Courtois so the young ‘keeper would like to resolve his future as Petr Cech looks to remain the club’s first-choice for the foreseeable future.

“I don’t know where I will be playing next season,” he told Belgian TV station Sporza.

“In a short time, I will discuss my future with Chelsea and I want to know their plans. After those discussions, I will decide what will be the best option for me.

“I don’t want to wait too long, it’s not good to begin a World Cup while you’re thinking about transfers. I don’t want to wait until May or June.

“I’m not worried at his moment and I hope I wont be worried at all the next months.”

Courtois has been excellent in goal for Atletico, keeping seven clean sheets in 15 La Liga matches this season. He also averages three saves per goal conceded.
