1. Chuba Akpom was born on 5th October 1995 in London, England.
2. Joined Arsenal at the age of 6 after attracting interest from West Ham United and Charlton Athletic.
3. Akpom made his debut for Arsenal’s Under-18 side aged just 15.
4. The youngster signed his first professional contract with the Gunners on 10th October 2012, a day after the 17th birthday.
5. Akpom was a part of Arsenal’s 2013-2013 pre-season tour of Asia and managed to score a goal against the Indonesian team and followed it with a brace against Vietnam.
6. The teenager made his debut for the Arsenal senior team on 14th September in the match against Sunderland where he came on for Olivier Giroud and his Capital One Cup debut on the 26th of September in the match against West Bromwich Albion where he played for over 60 minutes and managed to convert his penalty into a goal
7. Akpom has often been played ahead of his age group due to his intelligence and maturity.
8. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised Akpom calling his a player of immense “personality and quality”.
9. Akpom is of Nigerian descent but has represented England in Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels.
