The outspoken right-back gave his views on facing Arsenal

Dani Alves has never been shy of speaking out his mind and he said that Barcelona were happy that they were facing Arsenal in the Champions League draw.

The Champions League holders are on course to move into the quarter-finals on Wednesday evening as they take a 2-0 lead against Arsenal, thanks to Lionel Messi’s brace in the first leg.

The outspoken Brazilian full-back also accused Arsenal of lacking mental strength and character.

"When the draw was made, we knew it could have been tougher for us,” said Alves.

“That is no reflection on the quality of Arsenal. The quality of the way they play the game and the quality of some of their players is there for all to see.

"It is a reflection on their experience, character, and mental strengths.

“There are teams in Europe that don't have the quality that Arsenal have, but you would rather avoid them and play Arsenal - because you know that those teams have experience and character."

Pique says Barcelona will score penalties when it matters

When Pique was asked whether he was worried about Barcelona’s poor conversion rate form the spot, he told Canal Plus:

"In important games, when things are on the line and we have to score them, we will score them."

Pique also went on to praise the spirit in the Barcelona camp saying:

"We've been many years together, many important players. We understand each other well, can play passes sometimes without looking, but we want to keep improving and at end of the season to win something."

Pique who is a regular on twitter and social media with his Periscope app was asked if he was fazed by the criticism for his social media activities to which he replied:

"Not at all"
