Do Chelsea really need any more big signings?

With the transfer season nearly over, I’m one of the many Chelsea fans who is happy with our buys. Hazard seems to be at ease, Oscar performed well against Wigan and our other signings (Marin, Moses, Azpilicueta, Thorgan) will impress when they get the chance. With a contented heart, I was ready to witness another successful season for us.

Until this morning. It seems that we are chasing Cavani and/or Falcao. The first question I wanted to ask – why?. The defence is solid, the midfield provides excellent chances and Torres seems to be returning to his old form. Surely, bringing in another striker will only dent Torres’s confidence, will it not?

And apart from the fact that bringing in more players will only disrupt the new-found stability in our club, there is also one more disadvantage in signing these players – their insanely high transfer fee and wages.

To sign any one of these players will take nearly 40 million. And Cavani is demanding 150k per week! Falcao will probably ask for around 130-150k per week. This will really take a heavy toll on our wage structure.

What I’m trying to say is, we already have an established striker. And he is currently in form. Signing another player will surely break his confidence. And according to some sources on Twitter, Falcao’s signing is as good as finished.

This really made me sad. I don’t want to see Chelsea becoming like City. So,my opinion is that we stop spending thistransfer window. I repeat, this is only my opinion. There may be many who disagree with me. But, whatever maybe the outcome of this transfer saga, let’s hope it ends well for Chelsea!
