Nottingham Forest‘s Oliver Burke has attracted a lot of attention from Premier League giants following his progress in the Championship. The 19-year-old midfielder has scored three league goals in five appearances this season, following the same there is a host of clubs looking to sign him this summer, most notably Arsenal and Liverpool.

Arsenal have failed in their pursuit to sign players this summer with three signings completed, of which only one player added to the first team and now with less than 10 days left before the close of the summer transfer window, the Gunners have found a new target. Reports suggest that Arsenal are lining up a move for the 19-year-old, who may cost the Gunners an amount revolving around £10m.

However, Arsenal are not the only ones looking to sign the wonder-kid as according to reports, Sunderland, Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool too are reportedly monitoring the situation. Furthermore, Liverpool and Arsenal have both sent their scouts to watch the player, number of times.

Burke joined Nottingham Forest in September 2014 and made his first team debut within a few days of joining, as an 87th-minute substitute, in a 3-1 defeat against Tottenham. Last season marked the youngster’s first full season at Forest and his impressive form saw the player sign a new four-year contract in February which will see him at the club till 2020.

While Nottingham Forest is reluctant to let go of the sensational youngster, the Forest manager Philippe Montainer is hoping for one of the top tier clubs (Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs), signing the player so that the youngster will be loaned straight back to the Forest. Subsequently, if Sunderland and West Ham succeed in signing the youngster then the player will be wanted immediately and a loan move back will not be an option for the player.

If the youngster comes any close to the praises that the Forest fans like to pour on him, then Arsene Wenger will have to work swiftly to sign the 19-year-old, that is if he deems fit to part with the transfer funds provided to him.

Furthermore, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s futures at the club looks to be bleak at the moment and if reports from the Sun are to be believed then Arsenal chief scout Steve Rowley has been monitoring Burke for some time now so as to replace the duo with the winger.

It is yet to be seen whether the player is keen on a move to the Gunners, however, the latter remain hopeful of bringing the wonder-kid to the Emirates.
