Both managers with different ambitions will clash to capture the bragging rights in North London

Arsenal will take on Tottenham Hotspur in a highly charged North London derby at the Emirates on Sunday. Arsenal’s home defeat to Aston Villa on the opening day of the season caused a shock wave among their fans and threatened to derail their season.

Since then, however, a 3-1 away win away at Fulham and Champions League qualification have gone a long way to heal the wounds. A home win against local rivals Spurs will relieve pressure from Arsene Wenger, who is under fire from his own fans over lack of transfer activity for some time.

On the other hand, Tottenham’s start to the new season has been smooth. Two 1-0 wins in the Premier League and a relatively easy passage to the Europa League has seen many of their new signings gel in well.

Spurs, though, will be hoping to continue their fine form and try to score from open play – something which they have failed to this term in the league.
