Super striker rules out playing for 'The Special One'

AS Monaco's Falcao kicks the ball during his French Ligue 1 soccer match against FC Nantes in Nantes

Radamel Falcao has admitted an admiration for Jose Mourinho, but distanced himself from any potential move to Chelsea by insisting that he intends to fulfill his contract at Monaco.

Falco only signed for Monaco in the summer in a €50m deal from Atletico Madrid, but he has continually been linked with a move to Chelsea, especially with the striker problems suffered by the Blues this season.

The Colombian is considered one of the best strikers in football, and there were rumoured to have been problems between player and his new club earlier in the season, provoking talk that he could be tempted to link up with Mourinho, who had expressed an interest in bringing him to Real Madrid previously.

And while Falcao is full of respect for the current Chelsea boss, he is fully intent on seeing out his time at the Ligue 1 club.

He said, “Mourinho is a coach with a fantastic career, the titles that he has won speak for him and nobody can deny his capabilities.

“Mourinho has a different style. People might not like him, but that makes him special and football enjoys his eccentricity.

“Would I like to play for Mourinho? I’d never considered it. As of today it doesn’t seem possible as I have a five-year contract with Monaco.”

Falcao has scored nine goals in 16 appearances for Monaco, with all nine being scored from within the penalty area. He boasts a conversion rate of 24.3%, having hit the target with 57% of his attempts.
