Italian club Fiorentina have announced the signing of Spanish international winger Joaquin Rodriguez from La Liga side Malaga.
Joaquin, 31, has signed a three-year deal that will keep him with the club until June 30, 2016.
“I’m very happy to have signed here,” said Joaquin in a club statement.
Fiorentina, coached by Vincenzo Montella, finished fourth in Italy’s Serie A last season and have qualified for next season’s Europa League.
Joaquin began his professional career at Real Betis in 2000 before moving to Valencia for what was then a club record fee of 25 million euros in 2006.
He twice helped the club qualify for the Champions League and also played in the Europa League with Valencia in 2009-2010.
Joaquin joined Malaga for four million euros in 2011. Last season he scored his side’s only goal in a 1-0 home win over AC Milan in the Champions League.
Malaga went on to top their group but were eliminated in the quarter-finals by eventual, beaten finalists Borussia Dortmund.
