Gerard Pique reveals Fabregas's €33million move away from Barcelona at press conference

Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas during World Cup training

FC Barcelona midfielder, Cesc Fabregas may be heading out of Spain this summer as revealed by his team-mate Gerard Pique.

Before a press conference of the Spanish national team, the Catalan defender whispered the news to Spain manager Vincente Del Bosque, and also mentioned that Cesc himself had told him about the move.

"[Cesc Fabregas] told me [the deal] is done. He's already leaving, he told me that it is €33million," murmured Pique.

Del Bosque replied, "Poor president (in reference to Club President Josep Maria Bartomeu). He can't win for losing."

The conversation was captured by the conference microphones which clearly revealed the €33million transfer amount.

There were smiles after the pair concluded their chat as Pique failed to reveal the identity of Fabregas’ new club.

But it is believed that with Lampard’s departure, Chelsea want to replace him with a high profile name in the midfield. And with Arsenal reportedly not showing any interest, Fabregas could land at Chelsea.

But, the 27-year-old insisted that Barcelona officials should do everything in their power to keep his compatriot in Catalonia.

Talking to Mundo Deportivo, Pique said, "I do not know what will happen, but I hope he stays.”

"Cesc has never been sufficiently evaluated in Barcelona. He is not valued as he deserve.

"Cesc would work in any club in the world, but this club is very complicated," he added.

But at the same time, some people also believe that Pique was just trolling with the media making them believe about this whole transfer saga. Only time will tell.
