Premiere League club Fulham FC have confirmed that they will return the statue of Michael Jackson situated outside the club’s stadium to ex-owner Mohamed Al Fayed. The Guardian reports.

Al Fayed claimed that the late singer was a supporter of Fulham and erected the statue in 2011 to honor his memory.

The London based club was purchased for £150 million this year by Shahid Khan, and it was believed that the statue would stay.

Reports of the statue staying we’re laid to rest when the club stated that the statue does not feature in their redevelopment plans. Al Fayed will erect the statue elsewhere.

A Fulham spokesperson said: “The statue is not part of the Riverside development of the stadium and will be returned to the former chairman in due course.”
