Gary Neville won only one La Liga match in four months

Former Manchester United right-back Gary Neville has been sacked as Valencia manager. The Englishman endured a torrid spell as manager of Valencia winning only 10 out of the 28 matches he managed. His appointment as Valencia manager was something of a shock as Neville had no previous experience of managing a top level club.

The Englishman was appointed only on December 2nd, however, a poor run of results caused the Spanish club to part with their manager. Neville endured a tough start not winning in his first 9 La Liga matches.

An embarrassing 7-0 defeat to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey was the low point of his breif managerial career at Valencia. The former Manchester United man was pretty vocal in his criticism as a football pundit and some people like Hernan Crespo enjoyed his discomfiture.

“To watch a game from the TV, it’s very different than from the bench,” Crespo said to Fox Sports. “I’m almost happy for Gary Neville’s troubles at Valencia. I remember he was too harsh as a TV pundit.”

Neville will now be looking to play the role of an assistant coach for the England national team in this year's Euros.
