Barcelona central defender and Spain international, Gerard Pique has said that his former manager, Pep Guardiola will find managing in the Premier League much easier than the Bundesliga. The 29-year-old Barcelona man also thinks that Guardiola is more likely to succeed at the Etihad stadium than ever before.

In a Periscope session that he had taken earlier, Gerard Pique said, “(England) is much easier than in Germany. Pep will have a lot of options to win in City.”

The former Barcelona manager is set to join the Citizens in the summer of 2016 after his three-year-stint with the German giants, Bayern Munich comes to an end. The 45-year-old Spaniard has had an immensely successful period at the Bavaria-based football club.

He has won five trophies with the current Bundesliga champions which include a couple of Bundesliga titles, a DFB-Pokal Cup, a UEFA Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

And to add more to that, Guardiola's men are on course to win a third successive Bundesliga title as they sit pretty at the top of the German league table, five points ahead of the second-placed Borussia Dortmund with seven more matches to go.

They have also successfully managed to reach the semifinals of the DFB-Pokal and the last eight stage of the UEFA Champions League where they are pitted to play against Werder Bremen and FC Benfica respectively.

Gerard Pique and Pep Guardiola had worked with each other for four years from 2008 to 2012 during the latter's managerial stint at the Camp Nou. The duo were highly instrumental in a star-studded Barcelona side which had won 14 major honours including three La Liga titles and became UEFA Champions League winners twice in a short span of just four years.

The 29-year-old Spain international has had a successful 2015-16 season at the domestic circuit as well. Barcelona have already won the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup this season.

Moreover, the Catalan side is also set to clinch the La Liga title for yet another season as they lead the Spanish league table by nine points with eight more game-weeks to go. In the same way as Bayern Munich, Barca too, has reached the quarterfinal stage of the UEFA Champions League and the final of the Copa del Rey where they will face Atletico Madrid and Sevilla respectively .
