Harry Redknapp slams 'star' QPR players

Harry Redknapp has left no stone unturned in his final attack on certain overpaid, overrated QPR players following the team’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool this Sunday.

There is a little group I need to get out and new blood in,” said a clearly agitated Redknapp.

“I want to put a team together where I can look forward to coming into work. I don’t want people coming in late and me fining players every day. One player got fined more this month than he did in wages – and believe me he earns plenty of money.

“I don’t need to come to work every day and have that aggravation. I want to get a group in willing to come learn and take a bit of pride in what they do. There is a good group, but we need to get more in and get some out. Hopefully, I have support from board and we have to see what players we can find.”

It was pretty clear that Adel Taarabt and Jose Bosingwa were definitely among the ‘star’ players he had earlier mentioned. They were both left out of the squad for the game against Liverpool following a poor outing against Newcastle in the earlier week.

It isn’t going to be easy shifting players. You can always shift players people want and it will be difficult,” he added.

“There are bigger clubs in the Championship. We have no divine right to come back. We finished bottom because we’re the worse team. We have been short of quality. It is not a good squad. It was one that wasn’t good enough.”

QPR finished in a dismal 20th position and were the first team to get relegated this season.
