Nigerian striker Dudu Omagbemi is set to sign for East Bengal after agreeing personal terms with the Kolkata club on Monday, Sportskeeda can reveal.
Sportskeeda reported last month that East Bengal were in advanced talks with Dudu and now the 29-year-old has agreed a one-year deal. The club will soon make the move official.
Dudu will become the club’s third foreign signing of the summer following the additions of Ranti Martins and Leo Bertos.
The forward first played in India in 2001 when he joined Sporting Clube de Goa. He had loan spells at Dempo and Salgaocar but became a star after his return to Sporting Clube.
He helped the Flaming Oranje finish runners-up once in the National Football League and twice in the Federation Cup.
Dudu left the Goan club in 2007 and went on to play in Europe, even featuring in the UEFA Champions League for Hungarian club Debreceni.
He returned to Indian football in last season’s winter transfer window by signing for Salgaocar and inspired the Goan club to a third place finish in the I-League with five goals in ten appearances.
Dudu is expected to arrive in Kolkata later this month.
