After East Bengal claimed a record 34th Calcutta Football League title at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Thursday, out-going manager Trevor Morgan seemed to be the most emotional of them all as the crowd kept singing chants of ‘Morgaaan, Morgaaan.’

Morgan said: “It was really a very emotional situation for me with so many people chanting my name. Never ever did I experience it before. The occasion got to me. We played well and getting two goals in the first half helped a lot. It does not matter whether we could have won by a bigger margin. We needed a point and got three.”

Morgan also said that he was really deeply moved by the reaction from the fans at the end of the game but however, he also claimed that there won’t be any change in his decision.

“I think the time is right because I need to devote more time to my family. I have been out of home in four out of last five years and I feel it is time to give them more preference. I will definitely follow East Bengal’s performances. After West Ham that is.”

When asked about his biggest achievement with the club, Morgan said: “To last in Kolkata with one club for over three years.”
