Injury hits East Bengal before the new season

It seems that it is not going to be a good start for the ‘Red and Gold Brigade’ before the kick off of the new 2012-13 season. As happened in the last season with Mehtab Hussain and some other players, this time injury hits Sushant Matthew.

Sushant, an attacking mid fielder, got his knee injury in the last season and he was out of the team for couple of games in the later part of the I-League and Kolkata league. But this time, his injury becomes a reason of headache for coach Trevor James Morgan and also for the club officials.

According to the club medical report, Sushant has to undergo a medical surgery. Coach Morgan also seems very concerned about Sushant though he said that before this year’s christmas, there is no probability of Sushant to come back fully fit in the field. Now the question raised is that despite knowing his poor health condition, why the club officials included him in this season’s squad.

On the other hand, East Bengal will start their pre-season camp, probably in this week, at Kalyani, West Bengal. The British coach also told his club officials to prepare some local clubs for the benefit of the team.
