A thrilling encounter in Goa ended in level. The Gaurs wasted a chance to go on top as FC Pune City managed to get a draw. FC Goa took a lead in the 46th minute through Romeo’s effort which was later declared as an own goal by Johnson, and FC Pune City came right back through a crucial goal by Eugeneson Lyngdoh to earn much needed point to stay on top of the table.

FC Goa’s Manager Zico was furious at post match conference. He said “Haven’t you seen what happened in the game? Everything is against us. The guy that makes some aggression against Leo Moura, he didn’t get any card; the other player got the card.”

“I just don’t want any prejudice against Goa. It’s very difficult for us because all the time the decisions are against us. So I don’t want these decisions, all the time being against us. I am not asking help from the referee, no, I want just justice. If it carries on this way, I can go home and I can show it.” the Brazilian expressed.

While David Platt praised Mandar and Romeo “I didn’t expect to be honest, the real offensive nature of how they played with the wingbacks both Romeo and Mandar, they were effective and stayed high up the pitch.”

The Brit was pleased with one point and said “If I sit here now, then I’m delighted with a point because the game could have been beyond in the first half with the chances that they had.”

“It was a foul. I’ve to see the video again to see whether it’s worthy of anything but I’d lie if I couldn’t comment. I think it was a foul.” Former Arsenal midfielder affirmed when asked about the foul on Leo Moura.

It was a game that FC Goa could have seized with both hands but were denied on multiple occasions by profligate finishing, supreme defending and on one opportunity by the crossbar. The visitors got away by the skin of their teeth and should be glad for the point, it could have been much worse for FC Pune City.
