According to the Sunday People, James Milner could seek a move away from Manchester City this transfer window in search of more regular playing time.

The 28-year-old made 31 appearances for the Premier League champions this term, which included only nine full games and 19 substitute cameos. During that time he contributed one goal and four assists – the lowest tally of Milner’s past three seasons at the club.

Considering Milner’s current contract is set to expire in June 2015, and with no contract renewal forthcoming, it looks increasingly likely that the Yorkshireman will be shipped off in the summer.

Everton, Arsenal and Tottenham are rumoured to be monitoring the England international’s availability.

A return to Newcastle – a club he spent four years at between 2004 and 2008 – is not out of the question either.

Milner recently conceded that he was mulling over the idea of playing for another club in the pursuit of first-team football.

He said: “It’s an ongoing question whether I am better staying off at a club like City and playing big games in big competitions or playing more regularly somewhere else.”
