Newly-surfaced rumours reveal that Arsenal are still very much interested in signing Schalke star Julian Draxler. It’s a known fact that Arsenal failed to sign Draxler in the last transfer window as the German star preferred staying with his current club to keep his World Cup dreams alive. But Arsenal are not willing to give up on the German trickster yet.

The North London side are even ready to wait till next summer (after the World cup) for his signature.

Meanwhile, Schalke are already grooming a young star to take up the place of Draxler in the main squad. Max Meyer, an 18-year-old attacking midfielder, is the player they believe who has all the required attributes to be termed as ”the next Draxler”. Max caught everone’s eye after a stunning performance in the mid-week Cup game.

Schalke’s general manager Horst Heldt said, “In addition to the referee Max was the best man on the pitch.”

Their team manager Jens Keller added, “Max was outstanding today. With performances like today, he’ll certainly get other and more chances.”

Coming back to Draxler, Bild reported that a summer move to Arsenal is very much possible since the arrival of Max Meyer into the spotlight. It is believed that Schalke would want at least €45.5m for the German international.

Juventus are also keen on bringing Draxler to the Turin club. So, we can expect a bidding war between the two famous European clubs in the next summer window.
