Leicester City do not respect big teams any more says striker Leonardo Ulloa

Leicester City sit at the top of the English Premier League with 35 points from 16 games

Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa believes that they are enjoying their brilliant spell this season because they are unafraid of the traditional top clubs of the English Premier League.

Gradually, says the Argentine footballer, Leicester has developed a lack of respect for the teams that many fear in the top flight of English football. Incidentally, they have only lost against Arsenal, won against Chelsea and have drawn against Manchester United.

Claudio Ranieri's Leicester City now sit at the top of the league with 35 points, two points above second-placed Arsenal. They have won 10 of their 16 games so far and are enjoying an electric form made all the more easy primarily by the delightful partnership of Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy upfront.

According to Ulloa, it is the fearless attitude of his teammates that have helped them to reach the top of the league this year.

"Leicester do not respect the big teams anymore,” said Ulloa.

"We learnt the lesson from last season and the new players have helped us a lot, guys like (Gokhan) Inler, (Yohan) Benalouane and (N'Golo) Kante among others."

Ulloa himself has found the net only once this season having appeared in 10 matches so far but in the 2014/15 season, he had scored 11 times. He is aware of the fact that their key players Vardy and Mahrez are both enjoying a great form and have already become targets of some of the top clubs around the world.

Vardy is currently the top scorer of the league and most of his goals were scored from assists by the Algerian, Riyad Mahrez.

"We work as a team, but we also understand that Vardy and Mahrez are in a great moment and scoring a lot of goals."

Ulloa believes that they are better off as a team this season than the last one and according to him it is down to the fact that they are good in the defensive aspect of play. Notwithstanding what Ulloa has to say, the Foxes have looked more formidable and fluid up front. It is because they work as a team that have managed to put up a decent performance at the back.

The Foxes are to face Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday. Ranieri and his men are hopeful of clinching another three points to retain their position at the top of the English Premier League.
