Feliz Cumpleaños!

Death:

Life can be really cruel!

We express our deepest regret for the passing of Madrid Under 10s player Alonso Ezquerra and sympathise with his family and friends at this extremely hard time. The player, developed by the College Football Villa de Madrid, signed by Benjamin Real Madrid on June 11, passed away on Monday, ten days shy of 8 years, after being hit while crossing the street to catch a ball, as reported by the College Football Villa de Madrid. The incident occurred at about 14:30 on Tuesday on the passage of Ivan Vargas, opposite the Vicente Calderon, where the child came out from between two cars after a ball and was hit by the vehicle.

Dani Alves blasts Real Madrid:

“It was unthinkable that Real Madrid drop seven points in five days. Also they needed to be more upfront, but that is irrelevant now. There, it is not convenient to talk about how [Barcelona] are eight points ahead, and instead are so interested in what happened between Villa and Messi. We know how the movie goes, we are immune. Also, situations like those between Villa and Messi happen in training all the time,” said the Brazillian fullback who was reportedly frustrated after the media were making fuss about the feud between Lionel Messi and David Villa. He spoke about Adriano and Montoya as well, and also about fellow countryman Neymar, who was strongly chased by Real Madrid: “I look forward Neymar at the club along with Leo Messi.”

Mourinho: I’ll probably still be coaching at 70.

Jose Mourinho will be turning 50 this January, and apparently he revealed that he would want to spend another 20 years in the managerial position. He said: “I understand perfectly why Alex [70] is still in the job and I think I will be the same. I love football so much, I love coaching so much. I will still be very young when I become 50 and I believe I have a lot in front of me. Fifty is a number with a certain impact — it’s a number I believe sometimes has a psychologically negative impact on many people because they realize the world spins very, very fast and our lives are very, very short. It’s a number that makes me think and look back but also look forward too. I’m such a happy person because what I have done so far I think is amazing.I look back and reflect on this and have to be thankful for what God gave me. But at the same time I look forward and I feel myself better than ever, stronger than ever, with more experience and I think I’m still at the beginning of my professional life.”

Hugo Mallo renews with Celtic until 2017:

Celta Vigo annouced on their official site that Mallo has agreed to sign a new contract which extends his stay to 2017. “I’m home, very happy for the confidence the club have placed in me and I hope to return on the pitch,” said the young defender. “I hope to keep improving and show they have hit me with his commitment. I hope to return this trust in the best way possible, with my performance on the pitch,” Hugo concluded.

Kanoute to feature in Champions for Africa:

More than 30,000 people wil gather tonight at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan stadium to participate in the V Champions for Africa and support the cause of UNICEF and the Kanoute Foundation against child malnutrition. Money raised from ticket sales and an SMS campaign will be spent supporting UNICEF’s African programmes for infant survival, with special attention to the prevention and treatment of infant malnutrition, and extending the facilities at the Sakina Children’s’ Village – an orphanage and school that houses 40 orphaned children near to the player’s family home in Mali, funded by the Kanoute Foundation.

Falcao would be available for the match-up between Atletico and Betis:

Reportedly, Radamel Falcao has coped up well with his thigh injury and might be started in the midweek game against Betis. Manager Simeone said in a press conference: “In principle, everything is fine for Falcao to play.” He picked up the injury against Valladolid and was later substituted. The Argentinean coach was particularly pleased with the team’s offensive success. “Over the matches, we are improving in every facet of scoring goals. A midfielder with a goal is more important than the goal without midfielder. Raul’s arrival and Cristian has made us grow in that direction.”

Barça offers Xavier Hernandez a new contract:

Xavier Hernandez’s agent Iván Corretja claimed that the Calatan based club is looking to get the Spanish midfielder a new contract. He explained: “Last Friday the club informed us of its intention to renew his contract because it wants Xavi to stay. Considering that his current contract expires in 2014, it’s to be expected that we start to discuss this now because it’ll already be too late by June. We’ve always come to an agreement for previous contract extensions and there’s never been a problem of any kind. It’s very important for the player to know that the club still trusts in him. As such, I don’t think there’ll be any difficulties.” Xavi’s current contract will run out in the 2014 year, and in no way Barcelona will be looking to let go their main talisman.
