Atletico Madrid defender Miranda has refused to reaffirm his future to Los Rojiblancos ahead of next season, claiming that he has offers from clubs both in Spain and England to consider.

Manchester United denied making a bid for Miranda at the end of May, but are still believed to hold a heavy interest in the centre-back as they look to replace the outgoing pair of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, with defenders thought be one of new manager Louis Van Gaal’s top priorities.

Miranda has enjoyed another fine season as a key member of an Atletico side that finally broke the duopoly in Spain to lift the Primera title but looks likely to leave, although the fee remains in question. While he did confirm the presence of a buyout clause that the 29-year-old doesn’t believe will need to be met to bring Atletico to the negotiation table.

Miranda is currently on his summer holidays after being a surprising omission from Brazil’s World Cup squad and he has claimed his future is up in the air with a string of offers to contemplated over the off-season break.

Miranda told reporters, “I have some offers and we are negotiating.

“I have offers from the Spanish and English leagues, and some less important ones too.

“My agent is in Europe to decide my future. My buyout fee at Atletico Madrid is €30million [£24 million], but that can be negotiated.”
