Mumbai City FC are looking to get their season back on track, but face tough opposition in Delhi Dynamos who have picked up all nine points from their last three games, two of which were away from home.

Mumbai City FC though have had contrasting results, having picked up just one point from their first three games this season. But assistant coach Oscar Bruzon feels his side haven’t been too far behind the Dynamos in terms of controlling the game, but have failed to be effective when it really matters.

“We have controlled the games we have played but we have failed to be effective in decisive areas of the pitch and that’s the difference between us and Delhi Dynamos who are exactly the opposite of what we have been. We need to learn from that and add that missing effectiveness to our game,” said Bruzon.

The Spanish coach admitted that the start to Mumbai City FC’s campaign hasn’t gone to expectations but insisted that the entire team has worked tirelessly towards getting better results.

“I am not happy with anything at this moment and I admit that the start to our season hasn’t been as we expected. But in the last few days our entire team has worked tirelessly towards improving our performances and, our only concern is to get the three points tomorrow,” added Bruzon.

Mumbai City FC have had their share of moments in the previous games especially when Sony Norde has been on the ball, but the Mumbaikars have lacked a killer punch upfront which has resulted in the defense cracking under the obvious pressure.

“We have worked on our attack a lot since our defeat to Chennai. We haven’t been sharp enough upfront despite getting into good positions in attack and that’s what we aim to correct against Delhi Dynamos,” said the Mumbai City FC Assistant coach, while speaking to the media ahead of the game at Mumbai’s Dr. D.Y. Patil stadium tomorrow.

But Nicolas Anelka’s number two reinstated his faith in the Mumbai City FC squad and backed them to put things right sooner rather than later. Mumbai City FC are who netted just a single goal in this season’s Indian Super League come up against a robust Delhi Dynamos defense who have conceded just one goal in their last three games. But Bruzon believes his team has the quality to hurt the Dynamos and cause problems for Riise and co.

“I believe in my team, I know that their defense is very strong, and to break them one needs to have a very good attack. At Mumbai City FC, we have that kind of attack who can give their defense problems and I believe my players will do so tomorrow,” said a bullish Oscar Bruzon while wrapping up his pre-match thoughts.

The margin for error has reduced considerably for Mumbai City FC and they need to start picking up points before they leave it too late to catch the pace-setters. A win against Roberto Carlos’ Delhi Dynamos will be the perfect platform to kickstart their campaign and Mumbai City FC fans will be hoping to rejoice come the end of the game tomorrow.
