In the last few years the strategy at Newcastle United has been to bring youngsters through the club and identify best young talent to bring to the club. This search of the club has now taken the club scouts to Italy and in particular to the Island of Sardinia for two of their most young and promising players Gianmarco Paulis and Simone Solinas.

Gianmarco Paulis, 18 is a midfielder and Simone Solinas, 17 is a striker and they play for the youth team of the Serie A side Cagliari and have earned rave reviews for their performances this season.

Paulis made 23 appearances for the primavera outfit in the last season and has made five appearances this season whereas Solinas who is just breaking into the team has made just four appearances for the team.

According to Tuttomercatoweb both players have impressed the Newcastle scouts and could be subject of a bid from the side from the north east of England.

The Magpies though face stiff competition from the championship side Ipswich town who are also rumoured to be tracking the progress of the Italians.

The Magpies will have to come up with a decent offer to convince the Rossoblu to part company with two of their best youngsters and any below par offer for native Sardinians is likely to rebuffed.

We have seen that Newcastle United have been bringing youth players from all over the world over the last few years including Curtis Good from Australia and Kevin Mbabu from Switzerland and if they are able to bring these two it will be quite a coup for the club and add competition to club’s youth ranks.
